Q: What will I need to bring when I hire?
A: You will need to bring your driving license (both parts) and a further proof of address. You will need a valid credit or debit card (in your name) to pay at least the deposit. If you want someone other than the main driver to pay for the rental then this may incur an additional charge.

Q: How much deposit must I leave?
A: Our standard deposit is £100.00. This may need to be increased depending upon our terms and conditions.

Q: How old do I have to be to hire?
A: You can hire from 21-65 years. Our standard insurance is for 25 years old plus, however we can hire certain cars to you from 21 years with an increased insurance premium and possibly a larger deposit to cover the increased insurance excess.

Q: What if I have not got my license with me?
A: We can telephone the DVLA when you arrive and they will give us all the details we need. This is not a free service and we have to charge you £5.00 to do this.

Q: What if I have points on my license?
A: We can hire to you without restriction if you have 6 points or less. We may be able to hire with an increased premium if you have more. We will have to contact our insurers for confirmation at the time of hire.

Q: What if I have been convicted of a more serious offense or banned?
A: If you have an IN (No insurance), DR (Drink or drugs) or TT99 (totting up) and wish to hire we cannot guarantee to be able to help, but we will do our best. Expect to pay an additional premium and have terms imposed on the hire if we can get you accepted.

Q: What if my license is not in my current address?
A: You will need to bring 2 proofs of your current address and pay for a DVLA check (£5.00).

Q: Can I drive using a foreign license?
A: You can drive using most EEC countries and many other international licenses. Please telephone us to confirm yours is acceptable before booking.

Q: How long must I have held a license?
A: You must have been driving for a minimum of 1 year. If you have driven less than this we will probably be able to help. Please call the branch for details. Expect to pay an additional premium and have terms imposed on the hire if we can get you accepted.

Q: Are there any mileage restrictions?
A: Our cars include unlimited mileage within the UK subject to our fair usage policy, otherwise we allow 100 miles per day on a daily rate, 250 for a weekend or 500 miles per week. Extra miles can be arranged at the time of hire.

Q: Is insurance included?
A: Yes, our rates include fully comprehensive cover.

Q: What is the insurance excess?
A: £750.00 except where CDW is taken out. In this case it is the same amount as your deposit.

Q: Can I lower the excess?
A: If you pay for Collision damage waiver (£5.00-£10.00 per day depending on vehicle) then the excess is lowered to the value of your deposit.

Q: Is VAT included?
A: Yes, all our rentals include VAT.

Q: Can I include additional drivers?
A: Yes subject our normal terms and conditions. There is a charge of £5.00 per day for each additional driver. This is capped at a total cost of £100.00 in any rental.

Q: What happens if I get a speeding fine whilst hiring?
A: We will inform the relevant authority that you were the driver at the time of hire and they will contact you directly. There is an administration charge of £25.00 plus VAT for this.

Q: How do I pay congestion charges?
A: You must pay it in the normal way as if the car was your own. If you fail to pay we will pay it on your behalf and charge the cost plus an administration fee to your credit/debit card.

Q: What if I damage the car?
A: You will be charged according to the schedule of charges on display at our office. Where CDW has been taken this will be capped at the deposit amount.

Q: Is breakdown cover included?
A: Yes. All of our vehicles are covered by manufacturers breakdown or AA cover arranged by Hirepower.

Q: Can I take the vehicle abroad?
A: Yes, provided you notify us at the time of hire. You will need to take out European insurance cover (Green card) at a cost of £7.50 for each day the you are abroad. We also insist that full repatriating breakdown cover is in force. We can arrange this for you at a typical cost of around £8.00 per day.

Q: Can I tow with your vehicle?
A: Yes, provided you notify us at the time of hire. Please bear in mind that whatever it is that you are towing will not be covered by our insurance and must be covered separately on your own policy.
